The Egg Donors
All Cryos Egg donors have Extended profiles, and are either ID Release (formerly Non-Anonymous) or Non-ID Release (formerly Anonymous). These definitions do not mean that the donors are not identifiable. As donor eggs carry DNA, there is always a risk that donors, recipients and children can be traced via DNA-analysis and maybe otherwise making the privacy questionable in the future.
- ID Release + Extended profile
- Non-ID Release + Extended profile
The donors are either ID Release or Non-ID Release. These definitions do not mean that the donors are not identifiable. As donor egg carry DNA, there is always a risk that donors, recipients and children can be traced via DNA-analysis and maybe otherwise making the privacy questionable in the future.
If the donor is Non-ID Release, Cryos will never release the identity of the donor, and the client agrees not to try to contact the donor.
If the donor is ID Release, Cryos will disclose identifying information about the donor to clinics and authorities in countries where this is mandatory before or in relation to import or treatment. Cryos will disclose identifying information about the donor to the child at the donor child’s request and only once the child has reached the age of 18. The child must document, or render probable, that he/she is the result of a treatment with donor egg from a specific ID Release donor from Cryos. The code (name/number) of the donor in question must be informed.
The donor has agreed to be contacted by the children, but Cryos has no responsibility whether the donor will actually do so in the future.
For more information, please read our Terms of Agreement.
All egg donors have Extended profiles and are registered under a fictitious name such as ALICE, BRENDA, etc. The donor’s Extended profile consist of up to 8-10 pages of personal information on the egg donor's background, education, family background, interests, hobbies, etc. The following additional information may apply: Staff impression, handwritten greeting, voice recording, EQ profile, baby photos of the egg donor and in cases, also adult photos.

The extended profile is not updated with new information about education, work, civil status etc. after the date on which the original information was given. It is the original information that is shown in the extended profile.
